Writing and the internal yay/nay say

Every time I think 'I should, like, totally blog, you know?', I wonder why I don't and discover a new reason. I could probably write an weekly blog, with daily tweets, on not blogging.

Today that reason was an internal inconsistency within me.

Google destroyed blogging by rewarding junk. Write link bait articles, and get links. Get links, and get ranks.

But those blogs are boring and disappointing. You don't want to subscripe to a non-person writing "The 9 hidden secret sauces that will blow up your cooking".

Even though you know it's a trick, you still click. But only once. And you don't subscribe. You don't want daily bait in your inbox - with adds galore and what not (with a title like that, you know the author is up to something!)

Yet, many people blog. And many people don't write for Googles crawlers. But bait is what Google rewards because those articles are easy to link to.

The reason I don't blog is because I do not want to write a boring generic, rule based posts. I want to write ideas.

But I want to blog the right way to show that I know what I'm doing. But the right way is baity, and that's not what I want.

So I'm locked in this internal battle between doing blogging well (the generic way) or doing another way (the way I want it).

Someone should write the book "It's just a f***ing blog, man. Get over it."
